Honestly, i have nothing to say to you peeps. Unless you wanna hear me babbling about Avenged Sevenfold and how much i am in love with them and their music (omg Synyster Gates is a fucking awesome guitarist!!)-- No, i wouldn't fathom so.
Anyway, i have been reading the newspaper these days - i know, shocking, ain't it? But what can i do, i am bored to my skull - and have read of a certain person called Adam Umemoto (kid's name sounds like Japanese...). I do not know who he thinks he is, but i sure as hell know he ain't Christopher Paolini - the author for Eragon, the Inheritance Cycle.
Now, the kid here wrote a book called Dragonfire Hammer (interesting name, but odd in some certain way... hammer?). It includes Humans (ahh, typical humans of the Earth. A must have for every fantasy book, i dunno why), Elves (Angelic princess to be loved anyone?), Orcs (hmm, does this sound lord of the rings familiar to you?), some beast and a Phoenix. Oh, and not to mention a mage. Fire and Ice has those...
The plot! (See if you can understand)
Hereis the original website - kid got his own website - and you can contact him to tell him he sucks/rocks and so on. But i would advice you gals out there not to be too 'pervertic' when you're writing to him (if you know what i mean, kid's only 14) no matter how cute he is - as May Zhee put it (honestly, i think he's a kid). People seemed so happy to see him...
Define 'people' : Girls. (I don't understand why...)
I. Do. Not. I. Am. Fucking. Jealous. Of. The. Kid. Darn. It. All.
But, as a writer - no, i do not call/qualify myself as an author. I do not even know if i am going to persue a writing career. Therefore, i am not an author - i have to say congrats to the kid for such an achievement. It is a huge one for someone so small (of course, it also helps - a lot - if your uncle is the Prime Minister for the country).
Who knows? Maybe Prince Harry would get a book published too - one day. Or even Prince William (but i like prince Harry more). That way the whole of England might get to read his book with the help of Queen Elizabeth, his royal grandmother (the relation is even closer, so maybe the whole world (even mars) could read it).
And now, about my week at the court - tennis court. I dunno why, but i actually forced myself to participate a lot of things this year, on top of many other things i already have to do - compulsary. But there is one thing i thought i might be actually good at (which i just flunked) was tennis, since i had been playing for quite some time since i was six before i stopped three years ago due to violin lessons in KL on Sundays - the day for my tennis training.
And so, i thought i would join the MSSD Tennis for this year since i did not play last year (but i did join the year before). I thought i could get a chance, you know, at this. I mean, give myself a shot at my all time favourite sport. But -- it turns out that i suck real bad. I can't even serve decently to a thirteen year old girl who is half of me and half a head shorter than me. I do not like myself playing anymore -- unless i go for training again.
Ahh.... the good ol' tennis time. Brenice, i shall play with you sometime, after MSSD. Oh, and Kristina, you're an effin good player who has been playing for only 6 months.
And i hate the Sun. It is burning me and i have gone so bloody dark under the sun for so bloody long. At noon! Damn it. When i lift my sleeves up, my arm has two different color - brown and yellow. Yellow.... the only color i can think of to describe my skin now. Yellow. Yellow... hmm.
I had ballet today, and i really had a good time/ laugh at class. I shall post about it the next time - with the pictures and videos, once i get a hold on those.
I shall dedicate this post to JM - Jason Mraz, an awesome singer (who never sings out of tune during live concert no matter how tired he is)/ songwriter (awesome melody, awesome lyrics)/ guitarist (Ukulele!!). I do not care if he never reads this, but this post shall belong to him - until time stops.
And so, as you peeps out there know (well, some of you), i went for Jason Mraz's concert on the 4th of March - a day of memory which i shall cherish forever - with my friends; Jaycee, Jasmine, Aruni, Jason (Jason watching Jason...Hehe), Nazim, Choon Ming (a new friend, but friend nevertheless) and Kristina (a new friend too!). Oh, i met Qistina there too! She wore a shirt which said 'I love Jason Mraz'. I am instantly jealous of her. Lol.
It was a majestic day of celebration, and one i do not intend to forget, no matter how smelly and nauseous-looking the toilet in the stadium looked and smelled. I mean, who would forget? I meant Jason Mraz.
Maybe i should start from the journey from Kuantan to Kuala Lumpur, and how we 'bombarded' the bus by sleeping half of the whole journey...
So on the 4th of March, i went to school for a little while due to choir practice and i had to be there to teach them their new parts (yes, we are not done yet). I wore normal clothes to school and everyone asked me who am i (what the hell) and what i was doing there (do i really look so different outside my school uniform?). I told them i was going to KL for JM's concert, and they were like, oh. (oh? oh? OH? JUST A FUCKING OH???) (Rufus, i shall kill you personally for saying Jason Mraz sucks, no matter how much you look like Leehom. You do not say that in front of me =p).
Then at 8 30am, my mum came to school to pick me up. She sent me to the bus station and we waited for dear Aruni for 15 minutes (she thought the bus was at 9 20am, but it was at 9. Thank God/ all things holy that she came early!!). The bus driver was slightly impatient/ irritated (damn him), but my mum and i managed to calm him down. And so, the journey to Jason Mraz truly began.
On the bus, Aruni and I did not really 'bombarded' the bus. We were too hyper for that, lol. We just sat at our places, talked, laughed, listened the Avenged Sevenfold and Jason Mraz (Aruni, i let you listen to Geek in the Pink and The Remedy, so don't say you don't know them!!). Then when we were at the outskirts of town, we changed our seats by sitting at the end of the bus, where we talked & laughed even louder (the engine behind was surprisingly louder). So, the whole journey we sort of ran up and down the bus - twice. Three times for me.
***I shall skip the part where we reached KL we were afraid of where we were and how we were going to stop at Pekeliling. *damn scary*
After Jaycee's and Jasmine's mum picked us up from the bus stop, we went to have lunch (what larh you, Aruni, can't have spicy food... lmao. No offence ya) and went to Desa Park City (is it?), Jaycee and Jas's house. That area is nice, very western-like. If i ever get rich in the near future, i shall buy a house there, maybe two, or three...
Okay, back to the main purpose of this post.
After a quick shower and a change of clothes, we went to Sri KDU to pick up Jaycee and Choon Ming. SMK AA looks like nothing next to KDU, ain't it, Aruni? Jasmine did not follow us due to the car seats and seat belts thingies. Not enough space, and we did not want to risk it in case of road block. Instead, she followed Kristina, and tall and thin and gorgeous girl.
On the way, the sky was cloudy and grey and looked very promising of a huge rainstorm. Obviously, Aruni and I were very happy about it (concert under the rain? Hell yeah!). But Jaycee and Choon Ming were kinda worried. Then on the other line, Jason instant messaged to tell us Bukit Jalil was raining heavily. I was overjoyed, but it did not last, for he went to the wrong place and the wrong stadium. It was supposed to be Stadium Negara, just above Stadium Merdeka. If my memories serve correctly, his exact words were, 'I got bombarded by nags from both parents, I need to get out of this vehicle asap. But for Jason Mraz, i shall persevere'.
Pretty cool eh?
And then after all the ruckus, all of us arrived at the stadium without many incidents happening. We scorched the whole stadium just for three Jason Mraz posters (Jason, you still have my poster!!) and we got it - by signing up some silly karaoke green box things (who in the world put other songs when Jason Mraz is there to have concert?). I shall put the poster in my room, hanging it on the wall where i can see it every time i open my eyes every morning. Such a beautiful sight to wake up to every morning, don't you think?
Jaycee, Choon Ming, Aruni and I arrived at the stadium at 4 45pm, Jason a little later but Nazim and Jasmine and Kristina was about an hour later. The gates opened at 7 15pm and the concert started at 8 30pm. We stood, sat and stood for 5 hours straight (if you don't wanna count the days i had waited for the day itself to arrive) for the concert, just to see and hear Jason Mraz.
Honestly, Jason Mraz sounded better than his recorded songs. He improvised, changed the lyrics, made up new lyrics and composed new melodies. Here is an example of it.
You and I both - Jason Mraz
Remember, all pictures and videos belong to Jason (Tee), and he has all the credits.
And here's one more - I'm Yours, LIVE IN KL.
We sang along, screamed along, went insane along... It was an awesome night! I screamed and shouted (obviously) more than Aruni and yet, she had sore throat.
I love how Jason (Mraz) started his concert with Make It Mine. It was a very cool song. Then he went to The Remedy!!! Oh my God, that song made me cry... I had loved that song so much, and i listened to it almost everyday. Just to see Jason (Mraz) perform it that night live in front of me not more than 20 feet away made me shed tears of joy and surreal-ness. I don't know how to describe it, nor what to say about it. But imagine; you loved the song so much it hurts, and one day you see him singing it live right in front of you, for you. How would you feel?
'i am crying inside during the whole time... it's too unbelievable and touching to see him singing right before your eyes. it seems fake but his voice keeps ringing in your ears. and you have to accept the truth that he is actually there!'
And now, the pictures.
Ukulele!! 'sounds like hawaii-an'.
I like this picture. See the light behind him? The ambassador for love and peace indeed.
The whole band - with Toca and Eric!!
When the concert ended, i actually begin to go emo, and i didn't really talk except jumping around the stadium. Then after we got out of the stadium, only did i commented about everything and my annoying of a sister phoned me just to ask me the chords of the choir song. Talk about spoiling the mood... I actually treated this concert by a beautiful and soulful man a small break from everything i am in now. Ish --
The group photo we took before the concert. Omg, i am so short. I look like i'm having my head beheaded by just barely reaching the fences. Why do people have to be so tall? Or am i a member of the leprechaun family?
'Koko' 'Uncle'...*not looking over* 'LENG ZAI' *turned around* The moment was so embarrassing i hid my face. I really did not expect him to turn.
I still can't get over the concert. I wish i was back there again and again! The next time he comes, i shall be the first to go, again!
'Don't let your mind stop you from having a good time!'
'And my invisible gum...'
'This is my first time in Malaysia, and it certainly wouldn't be the last!'
The queue was long and hot and sweaty and tiring. But nonetheless! For Jason Mraz, i shall persevere. I already persevered.
Jason (Mraz) took this pic. He posted about Asia (including Malaysia) a little in his BLOG. He is so charming, you would fall in love with only his words in your head.
MR. A-Z is all about the Wordplay... lalalalala.
Gratitude - 'best' toilet i've ever been to. Not to mention scary looking too from here.
After the concert, everything was back to normal - if you call busy normal. Our lives, our emotions and our stabalities... if you know what i mean. Jason Mraz is like a very short, very sweet and very memorable pause in our lives for us to catch our breaths, recharge and back into our busy schedules again. He is like a chilly breeze in a hot summer, a warm little fire during winter. Or even pepper in poridge, making it tasting even more wonderful - making our lives better.
His music shall always live in my body, my heart and my soul. He inspired me in every way.
Once again -- Jason Mraz rules!
Penny: Thank you Jason!
Jason (Tee): You're welcome, you're welcome!
PS, I had a feeling i just spent three hours sitting here typing nonsense that had nothing to do with the concert...
PSS, Some girl from Kuantan stalked Jason (Mraz) and his band - Toca!! - after the concert. They went to the hotel that he stayed and they took some pictures with him and the band. It was really nice of them (i almost got a heart attack after looking at the picture) and you guys should see her post about it here... Oh damn, i couldn't remember her URL. Oh well. But she is lucky though. Fate, what to do?
I am so tired right now. My eyes can barely open. Yet, still, i am here - in front of the computer - blogging and posting about my awfully exhausting day and showing you peeps out there (damn it, Nazim, you got me addicted to this word) how wonderfully awesome Avenged Sevenfold and Planetshakers are.
These are the bands.
Planetshakers
Here i Am
Awesome song, very touching.
Avenged Sevenfold
These bands are freakin' awesome, especially Avenged Sevenfold. They really have talents in the band - awesome guitarists, freakin' good drummer and freakin' loud lead singer. Their songs may be a little loud and rocky for your tastes, i don't know, but they're perfect for me. I love watching them sing live - in Youtube. Lmao.
Oh oh!! Steven Strait can sing! Yes, the hottie from 10'000 BC, Undiscovered, Sky High -- I honestly didn't know, and his voice is very soothing - very soothing for a guy like him. Oh goodness, he can sing!
Smart in a Stupid way - Steven Strait & Ashley Simpson (from the movie Undiscovered)
You be the judge of the song and his voice. I think he's good and has great potential, and I'll be waiting for his full album to be recorded and launched.
Okay, back to my main story. I went to KL this morning for violin lessons (i haven't been practising much and my teacher, being a fellow Ausy, kept saying 'Golly me, your tuning is awful'). I woke up at 6 (one week straight, damn exhausting), and went to KL straight after my mum came back from her shop. Lesson was 11 am, ended at 5 pm. Of course, there was lunch break in between for almost 2 hours and then back to the cold lesson room again. Here, my mum had helped me - us - a lot these past years, sending us back and forth to KL and Kuantan. I appreciate her a lot and i would practise, hard, from now on.
Geez, was i too late to say that? Oh well.
Now these two videos are Avenged Sevenfold's LIVE concert videos.
Bat Country
Beast and the Harlot
The guitar solos are fucking awesome (sorry for the foul language)!! But the guitarists are really, really awesome!
One more -- i can't help myself. This next video is very very nice. The rhythm/ beat/ skills/ hands-flying-skills of the drummer... Whew, one word - AWESOME!!
Chapter Four
Oh, who's hair is redder? Hayley Williams from Paramore or Travis Clark from We The Kings? (Hayley looks so small beside Travis!!)
I am now reading The Silmarillion by J.R.R.Tolkien (one of my favourite Classic writers), edited by his son Christopher Tolkien. The book is awesome, and it contains the First Age of Time and everything before Lord of the Rings and The Hobbits.
Though my book's cover ain't this nice (Mr. Lim, thanks so much for the book! I shall take good care of it - already halfway finishing it), but it is very ancient. And obviously, the ancient feeling is there when i'm reading it. I shall bring this book to Jason Mraz's concert (only two more days away!! Being past midnight and all). Lol.
PS, JASON MRAZ IS ONLY 2 MORE DAYS AWAY!!!
PSS, I am insanely in love with Avenged Sevenfold now. Awesome, awesome band!!
I am so excited! Jason Mraz's concert is only 4 more days away!! Read this: FOUR MORE DAYS! How close is that? I remembered it was Chinese New Year when i said the concert was daysssss away and how i could not wait for time to go faster to the day of the concert.
And now? Whew... Four more days people!!
Now, as i was browsing through the net looking for 1719's dresses (a research for my book), i came across these beautiful dresses that was so elegant, i feel i could not NOT put it up here.
Guys, shut your eyes and come back to my blog the next time i post about something else. Lol.
The pictures are below.
I have a feeling these are wedding dresses...
Oh well, they're still gorgeous. The designer of these fine clothings is Alfred Angelo. He designs the most beautiful dresses, don't you agree ladies?
More.
Aww, cute!
My sister, Jovian, said this looked like a mermaid. Awesome...
I don't know what this is doing here, and i can't delete it.
Now these are dresses. Beautiful dresses. Maybe one day, i might be able to design one as gorgeous as these above. Someday.
But for now, i am into my music and writing. And right now, i have to go. Sport's day in my school is a 'huge' deal. -.-
PS, Avenged Sevenfold is an awesome band and has the best guitarists ever!! Thanks, Geoffrey, for introducing them to me!! Afterlife rocks!!! And i know you can play your solo freakin' well/ awesome!
I know i haven't been blogging for a few days. But, i have been up to something very very interesting (and there was this something called exam). I would like to share with you guys my latest obsession.
I am now obsessed with the movie, Queen of the Damned. It starred Stuart Townsend and Aaliyah.
Thank you Jasmine for telling me!! Actually, i've watched this movie when i was very young, about 7 or 8? I could not remember. But i knew i watched it before when i was watching the last part, when a vampire turned to stone.
It is an awesome movie, with the most gorgeous vampire on earth (sorry, Rob, but Stuart Townsend really is a better vampire).
Here are some pictures.
The vampire, Lestat. Supposedly, he was a rock star in this movie. But unfortunately, he did not 'sing', if you know what i mean.
The queen of all damned, Akasha. She took Lestat as her King (most probably because of his outrageously good looks) and when he drank her blood, he can walk under the sun too.
This picture ain't that clear, but you could already see his abs... It's all so dreamy it looks surreal.
Lestat and Jesse. After he took her blood (under the command of Queen Akasha), he laid her down. Later, he made her an undead too.
Now, i watched the movie over and over and over again in Youtube. Therefore, i shall put it here too. You don't need the trouble to look for it then.
These are the full movie of the Queen of the Damned. I hope you like it, i know i did. (omg Stuart Townsend has the deepest, sexiest voice on earth!! Charliz Theron is soooooo lucky to have him).
This is the song i found awesome in the movie. When Lestat is performing in his concert. The song was written by Jonathan Davis in the band called Korn, and the title of it is called 'Slept So Long'. Make damn sure you listen.
PS, Jason Mraz!!!!! Here I COME!!!!!!
PSS, Aruni!! We shall bombard the bus! We shall put Pink's 'So what' and we shall not give a damn what other people say!!!
PSSS, For the first time since form 1, i aced my Chinese. Miracle...
For the first time in five years, i stepped foot in the zoo. Yes, the Kuatan zoo, the small zoo, the mini zoo, the freakin' small/ ugly/ dirty/ always swarming with hungry monkeys zoo. But, surprisingly, there weren't any monkey there today. I think it was because of the weather, the cloudy oh-so-comfortable/ emo weather.
My dad brought all of us - myself, Jermaine, Jovian, Fabian and Jeffrey - to the zoo right after breakfast, right after church. At first, i wanted to go back (exam, bored, wanted to blog), but my dad was reluctant to send me home alone and i was sulking all the way there...
...until i saw something that triggered my memory during my childhood.
There are some pictures i would like to share, though it may not be perfect. My camera phone is not as perfect as the normal camera.
Aw, the playground is still there. My brother... His turn to spend part of his childhood in the zoo, like all of us did when we were really little. I shall cherish those memories forever in my heart/ mind. Look at him, oh so tiny!
On the swing.
My sister, Jermaine, sitting on the swing.
At first, my brother went to look for the bear. But it wasn't there. Now here's one funny/ stupid conversation.
Jermaine: Eh, where's the bear?
Me: I dunno. You think i live here?
Dad: Oh, you see! The bear die already. (to my brother)
Jeffrey: Oh yea ah? The bear die already wor.
Dad: Yes, the bear die already.
Jermaine & I: *laugh*
Now there was a bird nest in my house, up on a tree. My sister, Jermaine, went to take a picture of it.
I took this picture ages ago. I found it oddly beautiful and took the perfect opportunity to take a picture of it. I was inside the car and my mum told me i was crazy. Lmao.
PS, Kelly Clarkson's new song is awesome - i bet you guys already know it. Here's the URL to the video. I can't emb it 'cause it was disabled by request. -.-
I am Jocelyn - Jocelyn Wong Lixian. I live - more like stuck - here, Kuantan, Malaysia. I love my music. I love writing. I love composing / directing. I am insanely obsessed with bands. And I especially love singing. I have a coffee addiction - Starbucks - and book addiction - TONS of books. I love fantasy books(vampires, dragons, magic...that kind of thing). I love music of every kind, so there's really no point labelling them out one by one. I have a myspace and a facebook, you can add me in both places - lixian17wong@gmail.com. I change my mind all the time - almost about everything. I have the best family i could ever ask for, and i am grateful for them. I am a little irresponsible, and i can be arrogant/ cool. I tend to be nuts sometimes, but my intentions aren't bad. I drink, but do not swear - if i can. I hate smokers. My dream - arts school in the States (composing, directing, script writing and producing). As long as you're sane, i'll always be your friend - jocelyn_940317@hotmail.com (msn).
